Altseason is a period when altcoins surpass Bitcoin in market interest. However, according to data from Santiment, market interest in altseason has sharply declined. Both volume and dominance of social media discussions have returned to April levels, despite various positive catalysts in July.
Quoting cryptopotato on Sunday (10/8/2025), some factors that triggered optimism in July include progress in regulations, the trend of tokenizing real-world assets, the resurgence of Ethereum, and record inflows into ETFs.
However, Santiment analyst, Chyan, stated that “public attention has not shifted to altcoins.”
“Without a Bitcoin price breakthrough and the return of investor risk appetite, altseason will remain stalled,” he added.
The Santiment graph shows spikes in discussions at the end of February, the end of May, and mid-July. However, this activity has now significantly decreased.
Analysts believe that the time when all altcoins moved up together seems to have passed. The hype has not even come close to the level seen in the first quarter of 2024 when the Bitcoin ETF was launched.
Nevertheless, some crypto assets that are still attracting attention include Litecoin, Stellar, and the stablecoin USDC.
